Patrick Braddock

Patrick was 3 and a half months old when he first took to the water and began swimming at Dukinfield Marlins when he was 4 years old. He trains all three sessions a week and also puts extra training in elsewhere during the week.

He won Silver in 25m Butterfly and Bronze in 25m Breaststroke at his first ever Stockport Mini Meets and then followed this up at the next Mini Meets by winning Silver again in 25m Butterfly, Bronze in 25m Backstroke and 100m IM and improved on his Breaststroke by taking Gold. Following these meets, he was approached by Stockport Metro and went to represent them in the Arena Junior Inter-League Swimming Competition. The team made it to the National Final in Corby and walked away with Bronze medals!

In his first ever long course championships in Manchester in July, he swooped Gold in 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke, Silver in 50m Freestyle and 200m IM and Bronze in 50m Backstroke. He regularly appears in the top 10 of boys his age in the country following open meets and his best placing so far was 1st in England for 100m Butterfly and 2nd in the country overall.

He adores his swimming and loves being part of Dukinfield Marlins although he’s glad that the club doesn’t offer a 5am swimming session!
