Marlins Fun sessions and Summer Closure

06 Jul, 2014

Dukinfield Marlins ASC would like to announce their summer closure arrangements for 2014. We will hold 3 family fun sessions on Thursday, July 24th and will close on completion of these sessions for the summer break. We reopen as normal on Thursday, August 28th at 6:30pm.

Please read the following information carefully regarding the fun sessions as there is a change to the admission policy on this day.

Members are welcome to come along to our fun sessions regardless of which day they would normally attend the club. The cost is £3:50 to swim and 50p to spectate if you are an adult.

Members are welcome to bring along friends to join them and again, the cost per friend is £3:50.

As we are allowing non members to join in on this day, we have to make changes to the admissions policy in line with ASA rules.

Swimmers, (both members and non members), who are aged 7 years and under MUST be accompanied in the water with an adult in the ratio of 1 adult to 2 children maximum.

Swimmers, (both members and non members), who use flotation aids in the water, ie armbands, discs, rings, etc, to aid their swimming regardless of how old they are MUST ALSO be accompanied in the water with an adult in the ratio of 1 adult to 2 children maximum.

Swimmers, (both members and non members), who are aged 8 years and over who do not need to use armbands, discs, etc to help them do not need to be accompanied in the water.

This means that if you have a child who comes to lessons and is 7 years old or under or if you have a child who still uses armbands or discs for swimming, you will need to join them in the water. This also applies if your child is bringing one or more friends with them and they come under these restrictions. Please be aware of the adult:child ratio in the water too if bringing friends.

If parents, etc want to join their children in the pool even if their child does not need to be accompanied, merely because you’d like a swim (and why should the kids have all the fun anyway), just pay the £3:50 session fee for yourself at the desk.

Please note that the later 8pm session is for children who train at Marlins squad sessions and their guests.

These changes are because our fun sessions operate more like public swim sessions as we allow guests of members to join in and not as normal private club sessions, hence the change in admission. However, these fun sessions have been very well attended in the past by members, friends and adults and a great time has been had by all!

With summer (supposedly), in full swing and with everyone hoping for some warm weather, come and join us on July 24th for a dip in the pool! We hope to see you there!
